Asongita Ntonghawah-Atemnkeng (DNP. MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC)

Dr. Asongita Ntonghawah-Atemnkeng is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Advance Practice Nurse (APN) with a dual board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with years of clinical experience in treating psychiatric disorders and specializes in treating major depression, substance use disorders, eating disorders, mood disorder, anxiety disorder, OCD, PTSD and ADHD. Dr Ntonghawah has full scope of therapeutic skills and she uses most innovative forms of treatments including psychotropic medications, individual therapy and CBT.

Dr Ntonghawah is highly motivated by a desire to improve the health knowledge, medical and mental outcomes of her patients. Dr. Ntonghawah see clients across the lifespan from 9-65 years old in Washington DC metroplex. She conducts psychiatric assessments and makes recommendations for treatment which often includes psychiatric medications and brief solution focused therapy. Dr Ntonghawah is highly motivated by a desire to improve the health knowledge, medical and mental outcomes of her patients. Her treatment approach is tailored to meet individual patient’s needs.

Dr Ntonghawah has experience working with uninsured, Medicaid and Medicare patients treating medical and mental health conditions for over 5 years now. Dr Ntonghawah believes in treating each patient as a whole person, not just their current symptoms. She conducts psychiatric assessments and collaborates with patients to develop a treatment plan specifically tailored to meet their individual needs. She prescribes conservatively, using evidence-based practice guidelines, and places the patient’s preferences and values at the heart of all her recommendations.

Dr Ntonghawah gets satisfaction from providing compassionate care that makes a difference in the lives of her patients. She takes pride in being a good listener who treats all patients with the utmost dignity and respect. She understands the need for a holistic approach to care and considers the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit with the environment, social/cultural experience, and relationships when deciding on treatment plans.

Anyinkia Forteh (BSN, MSN, PMHNP – BC)

Anyinkia Forteh is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (BSN, MSN, PMHNP – BC) licensed in the states of Maryland, DC, and Virginia with experience in mental health. She is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, comprehensive, and patient-centered care. She utilizes evidence-based treatment guidelines in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health disorders not limited to Depression, Anxiety, insomnia, Bipolar, PTSD, Psychosis, OCD, Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and ADHD. She possesses strong clinical skills with the ability to build good rapport with patients and families. Focusing on the client’s individual needs allows her to develop client-specific treatment plans to address their needs. Anyinkia’s goals are to establish a therapeutic relationship with each client, reduce stigmatization in mental health, promote treatment adherence, and help clients accomplish set goals.
