Asongita Ntonghawah-Atemnkeng (MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC)

Asongtia Ntonghawah is an Advanced Practice Nurse. She has dual board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Asongita is experienced in treating all psychiatric disorders and specializes in treating major depression, substance use disorders, eating disorders, mood disorder, anxiety disorder, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD. She has a concept for an integrated clinic that focuses on individualized care for everyone in the community. She is highly motivated by a desire to improve the health knowledge, medical and mental outcomes of her patients. Her great desire to improve patient outcomes led her to open ACCESS HEALTH SERVICES, integrated wellness and mental Health Practice where she can practice to full potential and execute genuine holistic care for her patients.

She has experience working with uninsured, Medicaid and Medicare patients treating medical and mental health conditions for over 3 years now.

Asongita believes in treating each patient as a whole person, not just their current symptoms. She conducts psychiatric assessments and collaborates with patients to develop a treatment plan specifically tailored to meet their individual needs. She prescribes conservatively, using evidence-based practice guidelines, and places the patient’s preferences and values at the heart of all her recommendations. Asongita gets satisfaction from providing compassionate care that makes a difference in the lives of her patients. She takes pride in being a good listener who treats all patients with the utmost dignity and respect. Joyce understands the need for a holistic approach to care and considers the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit with the environment, social/cultural experience, and relationships when deciding on treatment plans. She sees clients of all ages and is happy to collaborate with other members of a client’s care team. Asongita loves watching movies, spending time with family and friends.
